sad news

haiz.. besides the fact that it is christmas and that i still have to go school todae.. something sad happened over the weekend...
The earthquake in indonesia that was measure 8.9 on the ritcher scale caused a tsunami. So, many ppl died.. not only the because of the earthquake but also the tsunami. And i think that more ppl died coz of the sudden floods and gush of strong currents.
Isnt it saddening to know that the ppl so close to us are having trouble trying to save their own lives, but we in singapore are living so peacefully. We should really be feeling very lucky to live in singapore because there is no earthquakes or volcanos around us. The one possible thing that can affect singapore is terrorists and sickness outbreaks...
To me, natural disasters make mi more sad then human disasters. Though events like the 911 and the war between iraq and US happened, but i was not very affected by it.. coz to mi, its like.. its ppl causing the disasters to happen, the lives could be saved if ppl learnt to live peacefully and lovingly.. but unfortunately, this confilct is still happening.. and nothing can stop it unless PEACE gets into the heads of the political leaders in US n Iraq.....
Natural disasters cannot be prevented, and the innocent ppl did not ask for it to happen to them. Who would want to be killed...... and they cant even wish for a last wish... they just suddenly die.. haiz... the tsunami have not stopped and it seems that there are more tidal waves that are gg to hit srilanka, india, malaysia etc... so more deaths are coming....
cherene n i was discussing just now about ppl who translates the words of God to us.. it seems that the bible stated that 911 and the gulf war was predicted and that by 2006 1/3 of the world population would vanish... and soon after that the whole world would die... haiz... it may be true, it may not be, but if its Gods will, no matter how to try n prevent it, it will still get to us... so if u are so scared of dying, might as well just live a life of a good person and then u know get ur rewards in heaven...
Well, i tink right now, we can only pray for those innocent lives that were lost in the disaster, and that no more lives would be taken and that this whole disaster would stop....
* interesting fact*
because many beach tourist destinations were affected by the tsunami, many tourists have decided to change their tour destination to Singapore because we were not affect by the disaster and that its just nearby. So this way, the tourist arrivals in singapore could increase and contribute to the economy of singapore.
